The woman, who has been given the pseudonym Emily Chambers in accordance with her family’s wishes, is 39 and living in the United States. “Her doctor said the tumor is getting bigger and spreading,” her sister told US media. “Her tumor is actually growing in her spinal canal, and all the pressure from it is now on her spinal cord.” Chambers has been undergoing treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, but the quality of her life “is pretty dire,” her sister told the New York Post.
